Swiss honored with EGU John Dalton medal

Hannes Flühler from the Soil Physics Group, Institute of Terrestrial Ecology, ETH Zürich is the EGU John Dalton Medallist 2004. He received the medal for his fundamental contributions to the understanding of transport processes in soils at the field-scale.
The Hans Oeschger Medallist 2004 is John Mitchell from the the Met Office Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research, UK. He has been among the first to use atmosphere-ocean general circulation models to understand natural and anthropogenic influences on climatic changes.
