3rd SCCER CRES Conference on Innovations for the Energy Transition

Zeit

08:45 - 17:00

Veranstaltungsort

ZHAW Volkartgebäude, St. Georgen-Platz 2, 8400 Winterthur

The Competence Center for Research in Energy, Society and Transition (CREST) develops innovative strategies for energy policy and provides in-depth analyses of the drivers of, and barriers to, energy efficiency and promotion of new renewables. It is one of eight Swiss Competence Centers for Energy Research (SCCER) selected for federal funding by the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) at the end of 2013. Within the SCCER, CREST covers the action area of economy, environment, law and behaviour.

This year’s conference topic is «Innovations for the Energy Transition». Although SCCER CREST does not develop technologies, the center contributes to other types of innovation in business models, consumer interventions, policies and regulations. In keynote speeches, parallel sessions, poster sessions and a panel discussion, we will present and discuss CREST’s contribution to these innovations with a focus on answering the question of which steps are needed before these innovations will be successfully implemented into our energy system.

SESSION 1: Grid tariff systems – Threats and opportunities for new business models
SESSION 2: Change of behaviour – Understanding consumer segments in private energy consumption
SESSION 3: Current and future electricity markets – Is the devil in the detail?
SESSION 4: The interplay between energy governance and the socio-political acceptance of the energy transformation
SESSION 5: Energy entrepreneurship – How can we carry over CREST results to support energy start-ups and develop market innovation?
